One of a kind, barn-style home for rent in Norwich (2 miles from campus)Posted: September 21, 2016 | Author: ehpingree | Filed under: Housing, Dartmouth Reunions Housing, General | Tags: #housing, Dartmouth Reunions Housing, dartmouth housing | Leave a comment »
We are considering continuing to rent our beautiful home in Norwich (2.5 miles to Dartmouth’s campus) starting any time this summer if we find the right tenants.

For those looking at Hanover-area options who are not excited by the in-town condos and looking for a more authentic Upper Valley experience, our home is the perfect alternative. It’s not for everyone given the rustic decor and country feel, but if that’s your style, you won’t find a better place to spend a year or two.
From the renters we’ve had since graduating Tuck ourselves, we’ve found that the house is perfect for a couple in grad school or potentially a pair of roommates. Given the spiral staircase, wood-stove, and beautiful brook running mere yards from the backdoor, it is not ideal for toddlers.
The house has 3 bedrooms (tenants have often used one as an office), 1.5 bathrooms, a very large open space (pictured below) combining the living room, dining room and kitchen, laundry room/workshop, mudroom with plenty of built-in storage for sports/outdoor gear, a large game room with a shuffleboard table and darts (space could be used for other purposes), a very spacious storage loft, and a long outdoor storage shed for fire wood, landscaping equipment and bikes. Overall, it is a perfect house for hosting dinner parties, BBQs and other social gatherings, while also providing an incredibly cozy home
The house is mostly furnished, though for a longer term tenant we would consider storing furniture if that is desirable (though the available furniture goes perfectly with the space!). The house has a nice yard with a fenced in area for dogs, as well as some land on the other side of the brook (which can be heard throughout the house in the spring and summer!).
If you think this house might be a fit, please reach out. Rent is $3000/month.
